WhyPrecast

Why precast?

Benefits
of Precast

"Precast/prestressed concrete products are plant-produced architectural and structural building components. They are custom components, manufactured in quality controlled, PCI-Certified facilities where critical variables including mix design, consolidation, weather conditions, finishes and tolerances can be closely monitored and controlled. This allows for safe, accelerated construction with high-finish quality."

PRECAST/PRESTRESS

CONCRETE INSTITUTION

PRECAST/PRESTRESS

CONCRETE INSTITUTION

  • One of the fastest build systems available
Our precast components are manufactured in a quality controlled, PCI-Certified facility. Meaning there are fewer weather delays and they can be produced in parallel with site preparation work, resulting in 20-30% reduced labor and time on the job site when compared to competative trades. 〉 PCI Speed of Construction Report
  • Unmatched strength & durability
Precast panels are prestressed with high-tensile strength (270 ksi+) 7-wire, steel strands that are pretensioned and cast into the concrete. The combination of durable concrete and high-strength steel results in reduced cracks, increased load carrying capacity, greater spans, and lasting strength. 〉 PCI Precast Resiliency Report 〉 PCI 100 Year Service Life Report 〉 PCI Fire Resistance Report 〉 PCI Storm Resistance Report 〉 PCI Vibration Control Report 〉 PCI Corrosion Resistance Report 〉 PCI Blast Resistance Report
  • Environmental & fire resistance
Precast concrete is a natural fire inhibitor. It is non-combustible, does not need to be treated for fire resistance, retains structural integrity even when exposed to extreme tempuratures, and it absorbs heat, making it easier for occupants to escape. Precast can also be designed to adhere to any fire containment and compartmentalization requirements. 〉 PCI Fire Resistance Report 〉 PCI Storm Resistance Report 〉 PCI Vibration Control Report 〉 PCI Corrosion Resistance Report 〉 PCI Blast Resistance Report
  • Easy installation even on confined job sites
Precast components are manufactured off-site in a controlled facility, then transported to the job site ready for installation. This drastically reduces the need for on-site formwork and staging areas for materials. Additionally, precast installation only requires one crane, a crew of 4-5, and one 18-wheeler. Since precast is typically erected from the interior or the building, no equipment is needed outside of the building footprint because the installation is done from the inside. This is ideal for tight property lines, urban infill projects, or adjacent structures where exterior space is limited or unavailable.
  • Cost efficient & ideal for tight schedules
Precast components are manufactured off-site in a controlled environment, allowing work to begin while site preparation happens simultaneously. This parallel workflow shortens the overall project timeline. Once delivered, precast components are ready to install immediately, reducing on-site labor and minimizing weather-related delays. This leads to fewer days on site and lower labor costs. Controlled factory production also leads to precise material usage, reducing material waste and costly errors. Additionaly, precast's long lifespan and durability mean fewer repairs and lower lifecycle costs, saving money over the long term.
  • Creative design flexibility & capabilities
Through on-going enhancements to the fabricating processes, architectural precast can emulate various architectural styles, shapes and sizes in a wide range of colors, textures and finishes allowing for creative design solutions including brick and stone facades. 〉 View Our Design Capabilities 〉 PCI Design Handbook 〉 PCI Color & Texture Guide
  • Assistance through all design & build phases

Prestressed Precast

Breaking it all down

Precast concrete is a superior building system because it offers high quality, durability, and speed of construction. Made in controlled factory environments, it ensures consistent strength and finishes, reduces weather delays, and shortens on-site construction time. Its precision and efficiency leads to lower labor costs and less waste, while its fire resistance, sound insulation, and design flexibility make it ideal for a wide range of structures.
